Deaths that can be attributed to behavioral risk factors Spain 2019
Approximately 16 percent of the deaths in Spain were attributable to tobacco abuse in 2019, compared to 17 percent in the European Union. Data also revealed that about 10 percent of deaths were linked to the dietary habits of Spaniards, making this the second most common risk factor in the country. Overall, at least over 16 percent of all deaths in Spain can be linked back to the individual's behavioral habits, which also include alcohol consumption and low physical activity.
