The number of prescriptions for medical cannabis in Denmark increased from the first quarter of 2018 to a first peak in the second quarter of 2019, when there were around 3,400 prescriptions. In the following quarters, the number of prescriptions dropped and was down to around 2,800 in fourth quarter 2019, but increased to a new, second peak in Q4 2020 with 3,571 prescriptions. The last two quarters, Q3 and Q4 2023, finally saw the highest peaks, with some 4,300 and 4,700 prescriptions, respectively.
