In an April 2020 survey, 27 percent of U.S. CFOs said that the COVID-19 pandemic has decreased their appetite for mergers and acquisitions, whereas 34 percent said that it has had no impact on their M&A strategy. The pandemic has spread across the world since it was first discovered in Wuhan, China at the end of 2019.
