Ideal price points: streamed movie rentals and the coronavirus U.S. 2020
The coronavirus has meant that many U.S. adults have increased their home media consumption, however just 18 percent of respondents to a March 2020 survey said that they would be happy to spend between five and ten dollars on renting an independent film to watch via a streaming service. The majority of adults - 39 percent - said that they prefer to pay less than five dollars to rent an independent movie, and 36 percent were either undecided or had no opinion on the matter. Meanwhile, 37 percent said that they paid between ten and 20 dollars for a streaming service like Netflix or HBO Now.
