Renting movies for the first time due to the coronavirus U.S. 2020, by age group
According to a study held in March 2020, adults in the U.S. aged between 30 and 44 years old were the most likely group to have rented a movie online for the first time ever as a result of the coronavirus, followed by 18 to 29-year-olds, eight percent of whom said that they had done so. Whilst many respondents had previously rented a film online, it is clear that the coronavirus has not only impacted SVoD services, which also saw an uptick in usage, but potentially also the TVoD market, which allows consumers to watch content on a pay-per-view basis.
