Nippon Research Center in March 2020, approximately 75 percent of respondents in Japan stated that they began to consciously wash hands and gargle more thoroughly than usual after the outbreak of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). More than half of the respondents wore face masks whenever they went out of the house during the surveyed period.
