Since the announcement of a general confinement to stop the spreading of the coronavirus in France in February 2020, online sales have been analysed by the source in the toys and games category. Statistically speaking, Amazon was the leading platform in the first week of March generating 69 percent share of toy sales. The trend continued until the 12th of April. Cdiscount had an increase of sales share (15 percent) at the beginning of April.

The source adds the following information: " The online sales made in France were studied during the weeks from March 2 to 8 (reference week) and subsequent weeks. The variations were calculated by taking the index of 1.0 the week of March 2-8 and comparing it to sales made the week before. Unless otherwise stated, the indices are based on the turnover of the various online players (except food, in number of orders), based on the panel of 500,000 digital consumers in Europe.
