Change in shop traffic due to COVID-19 in Poland 2020, by store format

The outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic in Poland in March 2020 changed the purchasing behavior of the society. Between the 4th and 5th week of the so-called national quarantine, the most significant increase of the footfall rate in retail stores was recorded in supermarkets - by 21 percent. Convenience chains were further on the list - increase of 17.4 percent, discounts - 16.1 percent, hypermarkets - 15 percent and cash&carry chains - 12.3 percent. Easter had a big impact on the increased traffic in retail stores.
