On March 25, 2020, the ministerial decree TMA/277/2020 came into force, by which the Government of Spain declared certain types of accommodation as essential services for healthcare workers who conducted fundamental tasks in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic. Most of the around 370 chosen establishments were located in the autonomous communities of Castile-La Mancha, Andalusia and Castille and Leon.
