As the global demand for N95 masks has skyrocketed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in 2020, producers have scrambled to increase production to meet that demand. 3M is one of the leading producers of N95 masks. 3M's monthly production volume of N95 masks in the United States was 22 million in December 2019. As of July 2020, the company's monthly N95 mask production capacity increased to 50 million, and is projected to further increase to a production capacity of 95 million masks per month by October 2020.
