Impact of coronavirus on shopping in person at physical stores in the UK 2020

During the eight-week period between March 11 and May 6, 2020, the share of consumers who completely stopped shopping in person in physical stores increased dramatically, going from 3 percent in March 11, to approximately 30 percent by May 6, 2020. According to the results of Coronavirus Consumer Tracker conducted by Internet Retailing, a similar change was also observed in the share of consumers who reduced going to physical stores for shopping. As of May 6, 2020, about 62 percent of UK shoppers said due to the coronavirus, they reduced shopping in physical stores.
