According to a survey carried out in Chile in March 2020, the main problem faced by the industrial and services sectors in the Santiago Metropolitan Region during the COVID-19 pandemic was the decrease in demand and sales. Up to 81 percent of the industrial companies and 76 percent of the services providers surveyed suffered a drop in sales. Businesses in the industry sector were specially affected by supply chain disruptions, with 65 percent of respondents reporting such difficulties. On the other hand, four out of ten service providers had to close their offices.
