Between January 2018 and July 2019, the total number of locations of the leading supermarkets in the Netherlands increased. Major chains Albert Heijn, Lidl and Plus all expanded slightly, while Jumbo increased its numer of stores by 15 percent. Of the top five supermarket chains, only ALDI saw a decrease in total number of locations.
