In the two-week period from March 9 to March 22, 2020, the Coronavirus outbreak impacted the importing of materials, goods or services of approximately 57.5 percent of United Kingdom (UK) businesses, according to the findings of a recent survey. Covid-19 did not have an impact on the importing activities of only 42.5 percent of businesses, the survey revealed.

The survey covers all business sectors and had a response rate of 20.5%. The survey is voluntary and data are qualitative responses from businesses which should be treated with caution. The questions used in the survey ask respondents to categorize where turnover/workforce/prices/trade are ‘usual’ for the period.
