According to a survey on the status of truck drivers in India, 37 percent of truck drivers stated that they reduced resting time in order to complete their trip on time in 2020. More than half the truck drivers in the southern city of Chennai stated that they keep up with the schedule by increasing the speed of the trucks. Over-speeding was one of the leading causes of truck accidents in the country.
