According to a survey on the status of truck drivers in India, majority of the drivers stated that there were no repercussions for not delivering the goods on time in 2020. The wait time at the destination was reported to be long by over 42 percent of drivers from Kolkata whenever the truck was delayed as the customers schedule a later time for delivery. The payment of wages to the drivers in the country are sometimes delayed by the fleet owners or consigners as a consequence of late delivery.
