According to a poll conducted in October 2021, Americans with lower incomes have been harder hit by the COVID-19 outbreak, with 12 percent of respondents with an income of less than 50,000 U.S. dollars reporting that they have personally lost a job due to the pandemic, and a further 11 percent reporting a family member has lost a job.
