Due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, the Chinese government imposed travel restrictions at the end of January. China's total air travel sales volume, including domestic, inbound and outbound travel, registered the greatest loss with a decline of 81 percent between February 12 and 18, 2020, compared to the equivalent week in the previous year. As the coronavirus crisis was getting worse across the globe since March, the drop of flight ticket transactions continued, posting 36 percent loss in mid-June.
