Even though infection spread of the coronavirus COVID-19 had been slowing down in China, the effects of the pandemic on the Chinese tourism industry could be severe. The country's domestic tourism revenue was estimated to drop by 62 percent in the first half of 2020, followed by a 43 percent forecasted decline in the whole year of 2020.
