Due to the spread of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and the consequent state of alarm declared by the Government of Pedro Sánchez, all sporting events were required to be cancelled or postponed. The Spanish national football league, commonly known as LaLiga, calculated the potential losses as a result of the this cease, which would come to almost 500 million euros lost from broadcasting rights in the top division of the league.
