According to a survey conducted on the status of truck drivers in India, the truck driving profession was reported to have led to backache problems by over 77 percent of respondents in 2020. Three-fourth of the truck drivers from all over the country stated that continuous and long driving hours to deliver back-to-back consignments led to backaches. Gastric and stomach problems were faced by 40 percent of truck drivers because of frequently eating out at local 'dhabas' which are roadside restaurants on the highway.
