The U.S. respondents were informed about a report produced by NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration that stated that the past decade was the hottest ever recorded. Overall, at least 70 percent of U.S. adults in the Northeast, West and Midwest are at least somewhat concerned regarding the information. Clear differences can be seen between the regions, the South being least likely to be very concerned and the West being most likely to be very concerned. Factors such as political ideology may account for some of these differences.
