More than one half of Russian internet users in large cities who made payments via the internet used Yandex.Money, according to a survey from 2020. The second most popular e-wallet was Qiwi, named by 40 percent of respondents.

The survey was conducted in cities with over 700k population in six federal districts and cities with over 600k population in the Far Eastern Federal Districts. The respondents used the internet at least once a week and paid for goods and/or services online from a PC or smartphone at least once a year.
