Impact of the coronavirus pandemic on book revenue in Sweden 2020, by channel
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the book sales revenue in Sweden decreased from March to May 2020. In week 21 of 2020, the highest decline was recorded among physical book shops, with over 50 percent compared to the same period a year before. By comparison, online sales and physical sales revenue declined by seven and 23 percent compared to the previous year. In the weeks 11 to 16 of 2020, the book revenue decreased in Sweden, while the market was recovering between the weeks 17 to 20. From June 1 to 7, 2020, the book sales revenue amounted to roughly 57 million Swedish kronor.
