The Petrobras Santos Basin Pre-Salt Oil Field CCS in Brazil had a carbon capture and storage capacity of 10.6 million metric tons of carbon dioxid per year (Mtpa CO₂) as of July 2024. The capacity of operational CCS facilities around the world was around 50 Mtpa CO₂ in 2024. The most operational CCS facilities are located in the U.S.
