The number of somatic day-treatment patients in hospitals in Norway generally increased for both men and women throughout the period from 2012 to 2020, while the number of female patients mostly remained greater than the number of male patients throughout the period. In 2012, the number of patients was 91 thousand men and 117 thousand women. In 2020, the number increased to 112 thousand men and 142 thousand women.
