This statistic shows the main reasons why the population quit or would quit smoking in Spain as of March 2020. During that year, 67 percent of the smokers participating in the study indicated the improvement in general health as the main reason to quit smoking tobacco. This was followed by preventing of cancer and other diseases with 44 percent. As can be seen in the survey conducted by YouGov, only ten percent quit or would like to quit smoking due to family or work pressure.
