Between the weeks of February 17 to 21 and March 16 to 20, 2020, daytime viewership of cable news in the United States increased by 68.3 percent, and overnight audiences grew by 14.7 percent. TV viewership and news consumption have increased since the coronavirus outbreak tightened its grip on the United States as many consumers self-isolate.
