The NCAA college basketball tournament, known more commonly as March Madness, is a single elimination contest for college basketball teams. The tournament takes place each spring and is one of the most popular sporting events in the United States. The team from Kansas appeared in a record 28 consecutive March Madness tournaments between 1990 and 2017, which was the longest consecutive run of any team in the competition's history.

** Arizona had an actual streak of 25 from 1985 to 2009, but its 1999 and 2008 appearances were later vacated. Meanwhile, UCLA had a streak of 14 from 1989 to 2002, but their 1999 appearance was later vacated
The 2020 championship was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic but did not count against those with consecutive year streaks.
