Contraceptive use in Delhi India FY 2016 by method
About 47 percent of married women used some method of modern contraception across the capital territory of Delhi in India in financial year 2016. Tubal ligation, the surgical removal or blocking of fallopian tubes was the most common method in this region at over 19 percent.
The government had taken several measures to encourage the increase in awareness, availability and usage of modern contraceptives. This included Mission Parivar Vikas initiative, which focused on family planning in 146 high fertility districts across seven states in the country.
