According to a survey by Rakuten Insight on e-payment usage, more than 37 percent of female and 33 percent of male South Korean respondents stated that the reason they did not use e-payment services was that they did not trust them. The second top reason was a preference for cash. In the same survey, around 84 percent of respondents stated that they had made a transaction using e-payment methods.

The survey was conducted among 322 female and 417 male respondents. Other surveyed countries included China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan.
