Because of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, annual revenue passenger kilometers (RPKs) inthe aviation industry in Europe is estimated to decline by approximately 55 percent. Airlines in the region are expecting to have passenger revenue losses of 89 billion U.S. dollars compared with the previous year.
