During a representative survey of the British adult population, undertaken between the 16th and 17th March 2020, when asked about their preferred approach to dealing with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on any sports leagues, competitions or tournaments that have been suspended or paused the largest share of the respondents hold the opinion that if the competition is suspended or paused for more than a month, it should be abandoned for this season or year, however the opinion is divided as to whether or not there should be winners or losers recognised with a 31 of female respondents suggesting that there should be no winners or losers recognised compared to only 26 percent of male respondents . A similar share of male and female respondents hold the opinion that the competition should be completed at a later date.
