According to a survey by Rakuten Insight on e-payment usage in 2022, most age groups among the South Korean respondents with the exception of elderly respondents over 55 years old chose Naver Pay and Kakao Pay as their favorite e-payment services. The elderly chose Samsung Pay as their favorite service next to Naver Pay. In the same survey, around 87 percent of respondents had made a transaction using e-payment methods.

The survey was conducted among 2,818 female and 3,426 male respondents.
The survey was conducted among
368 respondents aged 16 to 24 years,
1,347 respondents aged 25 to 34 years,
1,912 respondents aged 35 to 44 years,
1,695 respondents aged 45 to 54 years and
922 respondents aged 55 years and older.
Other surveyed countries included China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan.
