After the outbreak of the coronavirus (Covid-19) the source has analyzed overall online shopping activites for all product categories in France during the time period between the 24th of February and 29th of March 2020, compared to the numbers generated before the outbreak from January 6th to February 16th 2020. For the week up until the 15th of March, the results for the online traffic showed a growth of approximately two percent. The average duration of a session declined by around nine percent and the page visits per sessions by around 11 percent. Conversion rates had also encountered a downfall.
The following week traffic had increased by more than 11 percent and the total conversion was at almost nine percent.
During the week between the 23rd and 29th of March, the overall traffic continued to grow, the conversion rate declined even more. The total conversion went from almost nine percent during the previous week, falling down to almost three percent until the 29th of March 2020.
