According to a survey by Rakuten Insight on e-payment usage, close to 87 percent of the South Korean respondents stated that they had made a transaction using e-payment methods, while over 10 percent of the respondents had not. In the same survey, around most users indicated convenience as a leading reason for making e-payment transactions.

The survey was conducted among 3,249 female and 3,930 male respondents. Other surveyed countries included China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan.
