With the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Germany in 2023, the government and health authorities are monitoring case numbers not only as a nationwide total, but also in all the German federal states. Currently the rate of infection per 100,000 inhabitants is highest in Bavaria, followed by Saarland.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection rate in Germany in 2023, by federal state
(per 100,000 inhabitants)
Numbers may change in the course of a day. Only case numbers transmitted electronically to the Robert Koch Institut (RKI) from health offices in federal states. Due to the reporting delay between known cases locally and transferring data to the RKI, there may be deviations compared to numbers currently published by federal states.
