Estimated revenue loss of primary agriculture due to coronavirus Netherlands 2020
As of March 2020, it is estimated that the total revenue loss of the primary agriculture will amount to five billion euros over a period of six months due to the coronavirus outbreak in the Netherlands. Horticulture foresee significant losses of two billion euros of revenue, whereas farms with ancillary activities expect approximately a decline of 200 million euros in total. When looking at the economic impact, Rabobank economists calculated that the growth of the Dutch economy will face a recession in 2020 due to the coronavirus and geopolitical events.
