According to a survey on urban mobility, 27 percent of private car owners considered ride sharing to commute in India in 2019. Of these, 32 percent of the respondents stated that they were willing to ride share only once per week. Shared mobility across the country is presumably affected by the private car users who value ownership.

Respondents were from six metro cities, 16 tier one cities and 38 tier two cities.
Note:
Metro - population of over seven million
Tier one - population between 2 million and 7 million
Tier two - population between 0.1 million and 2 million
