According to a survey conducted in November 2019, almost 75 percent of Japanese respondents agreed with the notion that permanent residency permits should be revoked once a permanent resident no longer meets the requirements originally needed to receive the permission. Only a share of around 14.6 percent of respondents objected to this currently active system of handling permanent residency permits.
