In 2018, sales of plant-based drinks in Brazil were estimated to amount to almost 600 million Brazilian reals, down from around 677 million reals a year earlier. This decrease is associated with a drop in sales of soy-based beverages, of around 15 percent in 2018, when compared to the previous year. In turn, sales of plant-based beverages from other sources have increased in the same period.
