According to a survey conducted by Capgemini in October 2019, the largest perception mismatch between consumers and retailers regarding the usage of facial recognition technology in retail stores was in France. 62 percent of French consumers stated that they would avoid a store if it was using facial recognition to identify them, while only four percent of French retailers believed consumers would avoid their stores if such technology was implemented.
