In 2019, for over 60 percent of consumers in Poland, it was somewhat important that the fish was sustainably caught or farmed and for over 50 percent of respondents that the fish was not endangered or locally farmed or caught. Only two percent of the respondents did not care whether sustainable practices were employed for fish catching or farming, nor if the fish were on a list list of species at risk of disappearing as Ipsos reports. For four percent it was not necessary for the fish to be caught locally.

* Sustainably caught or farmed implies that fish farming and catching techniques do not lead the fish population to decline over time.
