In 2019, over 70 percent of Russians revealed that while choosing a specific type of fish, it was very or somewhat important to them that the fish was sustainably caught or farmed, not endangered and locally farmed or caught. Only nine percent of respondents did not care at all whether sustainable practices were employed for fish catching or farming, as Ipsos reported.
