Main reasons not to purchase organic products in Belgium in 2019
As of 2019, the majority of consumers surveyed in Belgium who indicated that they rarely or never purchased organic products did so because they considered these products to be too expensive. Close to 70 percent of survey respondents cited price as a reason not to buy organic products or to rarely do so. Meanwhile, around a third of consumers were suspicious of whether products marketed as organic truly are organic products.
