In October 2024, retail prices for foodstuffs, drinks and tobacco in German wholesale trade had increased by around 2.7 percent compared to the same month a year ago. Compared to the previous month, there was an increase of 0.7 percent. Figures fluctuated during the specified timeline.

The wholesale sales price index measures the price development of goods sold by wholesalers in Germany on a representative basis, insofar as these sales are attributable to the wholesale function, such as transactions with resellers, processors or other bulk buyers.
