According to a survey conducted in November 2019, approximately 10.7 percent of surveyed Japanese men and 6.4 percent of women thought that refugees and people in need of humanitarian care should be accepted more proactively by Japan from now on. Female respondents tended to be more in favor of a rather cautious approach than male respondents.
