According to a survey conducted in November 2019, approximately 30.5 percent of surveyed Japanese men thought that the number of refugees and people in need of humanitarian care in Japan was small, while an additional 30.4 percent found it to be relatively small. This added up to a majority of more than 60 percent. More women than men were undecided or stated not to know enough about the topic.
