According to a survey on the sex life in China released in 2019, young Chinese adults were more open-minded towards sex than before. In that survey, around 6.5 percent of the respondents aged between 31 and 34 years were against premarital sex. A majority of the respondents remained neutral in the topic.

There were 4,695 respondents born between 1985 and 1989, 3,338 respondents born between 1990 and 1994, and 1,856 respondents born between 1995 and 2001.
