As of September 2024, the Italian industrial production declined by four percent compared to September 2023. In 2024, figures have always remained negative compared to 2023. The industrial production plummeted between March and August 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, reaching -44 percent in April 2020. However, it recovered during 2021 and 2022, peaking at 80 percent in April 2021.
